The first movies were essentially static shots of plays, until Eisenstein and other directors began to understand that film enabled new kinds of art. This is one of the first pieces I’ve seen that hints at the creative possibilities opened up by generative video, rather than being just a quicker-and-easier way of doing the same thing.
